Cherrapunjee – the historical name Sohra is the second wettest place on earth. It is 60 km from Shillong. Cherrapunji attracts a lot of tourists because of its abundant natural beauty, package of valleys and waterfalls, caves and canyons, evergreen misty landscapes and heavy rains.

Road to Cherrapunjee itself is a tourist attraction. Mawsmai Caves, Nohkalikai Falls, Seven sisters falls, Daiñthlen etc are the must-visit places in Cherrapunjee area.

Mawlynnong village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya also referred to as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 km from Shillong and is a community-based eco-tourism initiative. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the living root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock.

Dawki lies about 95km from Shillong and it is just 2 km away from Bangladesh border. A journey amidst the hilly regions from Shillong will take you to this thriving centre. Among various other attractions in Dawki, it is the Umngot River which is the talk of the town!

Waterfall rappelling at Elephant Falls, cave exploration, shopping at Bara Bazaar, boating in Umiam Lake, and yacht riding at Umiam Lake Water Sports Complex, Cycling, Trek etc..
